After much anticipation, the book Seven on a Mat is being published by Ontario History Press in partnership with the Prince Edward Historical Society. This fascinating story is about the Prinzen family of Prince Edward County who, during the last tumultuous months of WW2, sheltered seven downed allied airmen in German-occupied Holland.

The story was written by Doris Mayberry, the wife of one of the airmen, and is an incredible tale of courage, faith, survival and friendship as the Prinzen family worked with the Dutch Underground to keep the seven airmen out of the hands of the Nazis.

After the war, the Prinzen family emigrated from their war-ravaged country to the tranquil farming community of Prince Edward County.
