1. Macaulay Heritage Park, 23 Church Street, Picton

  • Macaulay House, built in 1830
  • The former Church of St. Mary Magdalene, now a museum
  • The old St. Mary Magdalene Parish Cemetery
  • The Heritage Gardens
  • The Carriage House
  • Douglas Crawford canning collection
  • Currently houses a permanent exhibition dedicated to the Indigenous history of Prince Edward County

2. Wellington Heritage Museum, 290 Main Street, Wellington

  • Built in 1885 as a Quaker meeting house
  • Now features changing exhibits on local history

3. Mariner’s Park Museum, 2065 County Road 13, Milford

  • Explores the many ways the inhabitants of Prince Edward County have interacted with its surrounding waters from ship building to ice harvesting to rum running
  • Light house on display relocated from False Duck Island
  • Fort Kente (a recreated fort from the war of 1812 era)
  • Home of many “treasures” from sunken ships retrieved during early diving expeditions

4. Rose House Museum, 3333 County Road 8, Waupoos

  • Preserved farmhouse from the early 1800’s
  • Interpreted by volunteers and actors in traditional pioneer costume

5. Ameliasburgh Heritage Village, 517 County Road 19, Ameliasburgh

  • Elaborate pioneer village
  • Main structure built in 1868 as a Wesleyan Methodist Church
  • Log cabin, display barns, operational blacksmith shop, a sap shanty, dairy and bee-keeping buildings and a large stone building housing the Goldie Corliss 18 foot flywheel

The White Chapel

  • Still maintained as a place of worship
  • Designated historical site
  • An excellent example of early North American Methodist Church architecture

Glenwood Cemetery

Opened in 1873 this 63-acre peaceful park setting is the resting place of over 15,000 people. Glenwood Cemetery remains an active Cemetry offering the full range of interment options including Green burials located in the natural woodland. The stone Chapel with 6 stained glass windows was built in 1901 and restored 2005.
